Juggling clowns, face-painting fairies & brightly coloured party-room hire…feel all too familiar? Want to spice up your child’s next birthday party? One of Sydney’s best birthday parties with a twist could be just the party with a difference you’re after! Children will be delighted to score an invite to one of these weird and wonderful parties, sure to make their birthday one to remember.

1. Platinum Restaurants – Casa Dining Pizza Making Party

They throw the party, and kids throw the dough! Hosted by Casa’s Italian pizza maestro’s, kids will be taken through the whole messy process from mixing, making and kneading the dough to pizza acrobatics and entertainment. Party packages include soft drink on arrival, a 1.5 hour class, and ice-cream to finish. Held at your choice of Blackbird Cafe on Cockle Bay Wharf or Casa Ristorante Italiano on King Street Wharf (who also offer free face painting and fairy floss every weekend from 12-4pm!). This is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves, utterly delicious birthday party with a twist that kids won’t soon forget.

2. Slumber Club - Bespoke Teepees

If your little one is set on a sleepover for their birthday party, Slumber Club will be your saviour, bringing you something really special. Choose from one of their four unique teepee themes that will have the kids saying "Wow!": Marshmallow Dreams, Boho Magic, Dreamland or Boys Will Be Boys. The Slumber Club team will set it all up for you (phew!), and each teepee comes complete with a mattress, sheets, blankets and accessories like breakfast trays with nightlights to keep the kids comfy and cosy.

You can even put the Slumber Club in charge all the games and activities, from treasure hunts and building workshops, to an outdoor cinema using an old sheet as a screen team...and they'll return the next day with coffee for parents in hand, to deconstruct and collect everything.
