KIDTOPIA: Top 5 Tips On Having The Best Time

Join us in counting down the days until this spectacular event returns! Kidtopia Festival, presented by Qantas Assure, returns during the October school holidays in Parramatta Park and promises to be a “smorgasbord of entertainment and activities to ignite the excitement in all.”

Kidtopia is one of the largest (and coolest!) family events in Sydney, particularly because it’s designed to appeal to both kids AND adults and it's chock-full of everything your heart can imagine: amusement rides, live music, masterclasses, performances, market stalls and more. Seriously. We. Cannot. Wait. Here are a few tips on how to have the best time ever.

Safety First

Start by adding an extra layer of peace of mind. Look for the handy information stand (known as the Meeting Place near the maypole when you arrive). Pick up a free ID wristband that you can write your phone number on and attach to your little one’s arm in the rare event you get separated. 

Pick Out Your Favourites

Have a groovy music-loving family? The Kidtopia Sound Stage will feature Hillbilly rascal band The Pigs alongside junk percussion group Junkyard Beats and Samson from Justice Crew's Base 181 school dance team. On more of the adventurous side?

 

A circus lover perhaps? La Petite Grande is the newest venue on the festival playground. Acts rotate throughout the day. Expect to see circus, cabaret, daredevil acts and more! Pssst…there’s also a circus school.

No matter what your style, there are heaps of activities to enjoy. You might have a tough time deciding what to do first! 

Bring Your Appetite

From the pizza, wraps, burgers, ethnic bites, coffee and desserts, you’re sure to find something to tantalize your taste buds. Bonus tip: pack a picnic blanket for added comfort.

Have A Cuddle With A New Furry Friend

Kids (and parents!) will love the cuteness overload of the Furry Friends area. Pet, brush and feed rabbits, chickens, goats, lambs and sheep. Don’t forget to capture the fun on camera!

Get Creative at CraftWorks

Get your art on! Make a robot or masquerade ball mask at CraftWorks, and Toonworld will also be there to empower children through drawing and cool craft activities. They’ve stashed fun drawing activities up their sleeves and kids will get to make their own 3d modelled characters come to life!

Festival Director Cory Watson says this year’s event will be bigger and better than the last, with a program that's full of excitement for all the whole family. “We’re going all out with this year’s Festival. More amusement rides, an extra stage in La Petite Grande for incredible live performances and bigger and better world-class entertainment and interactive experiences.”

First Release tickets are on sale now. The First Release tickets offer 50% off the final release price, with prices ranging from $10-$15 and entry for kids under 5 free. Prices for Masterclasses start from $20 per child; spaces are limited so book in early!
