For your next adventurous day out with the kids, why not try the adrenaline pumping, whole body workout of an indoor climbing gym? Scattered throughout Sydney, we bring you the best places to climb, scale, and (hopefully not) fall.

Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym, St Peters and Villawood

This is the biggest climbing centre in Sydney! At the Villawood Centre, they host Tuesday Youth Climbing for 6-10 year olds every Tuesday from 4.30-6pm, and 11yrs+ from 5.30-7pm. It makes an awesome kids birthday party too! The St Peters Centre boasts 3700 square metres of climbing walls, with an average wall height of 14m! Yikes!

Climb Oz, Blacktown

Did you know rock climbing is petitioning to become a game in the 2020 olympics?! Start training now! Climb Oz has an outdoor climbing wall, and offers bouldering, top rope climbing, lead sport climbing, and self belaying. They suit all levels, so beginners, don’t be shy!

The Edge Rockclimbing Centre, Castle Hill

The Edge is Australia’s tallest climbing and abseiling centre, if heights are your thing! There are over 120 walls to suit 5-85 years olds. There are Challenge courses and towers to make things that little bit more exciting. Children under 12 can climb for just $11! Little chimpanzees will learn strength, confidence and flexibility, so take your kids to the edge these school holidays.

Climb Fit, St Leonards

Just 10 minutes from the city is Climb Fit – this is both a climbing centre and gym! They accept kids as young as 4, and present the best activity to keep kids fit on a rainy day rather than stuck in front of a screen. There are also 2-day school holiday camps for 10-15 year olds, in case this becomes their new favourite hobby!
