Rainy days and school holidays – they can be a disastrous combination! Luckily, Darling Harbour has all families covered with a diverse range of school holiday activities that will keep kids happy whatever the weather. From animal encounters, meeting celebrities to kicking back in a cinema seat, we’ve rounded up the best things to do in Darling Harbour on a soggy, wet day.

1. SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium

Dive underwater and stay dry at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium. See the beautiful creatures that live in Australia’s waters and take The Glass Bottom Boat which offers a tour and a chance to feed the sharks and fish! If you don’t mind getting wet then dive into the water with Shark Reef Snorkel, an amazing experience that lets kids and parents come nice and close to sharks and fishes.

2. WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo

WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo has added new exciting experiences for families. Aside from being mostly indoor and giving you an intimate chance with your furry friends, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo is giving everyone the chance to hand-feed Princess, the Cassowary for a minimum donation of just $2! You’ll be taken into the Daintree Rainforest habitat and taught about this fascinating bird. If hand-feeding isn’t your kind of activity, there are also daily talks and shows that are family-friendly.

3. Australian National Maritime Museum

Sea lovers could spend weeks at the Australian Maritime Museum! Explore the ships and submarines on display and learn what living on or under the sea is like. As you wander around, you may notice that pirates have taken over! Horrible Histories is educating and entertaining kids about pirates with interactive activities, costumes and hilarious tales.
