Action Atelier: Drama & Theatre Classes For Kids (5-15yrs)

ACTION ATELIER, a theatre school run by accomplished and passionate actor and tutor Natalie Richards, are dynamic drama classes and theatrical and performance workshops for children looking to explore their creativity, learn dramatic performance skills and have fun creating short plays! Each lesson includes drama games, improvisations and drama exercises and performing to each other. Classes are held on weekdays during school terms in the Bondi Pavilion at Bondi Beach.

Wednesdays, 4-5pm (5 – 7 yrs): This class is designed as an introduction to drama for the little ones. Each lesson includes:

*Drama Games: for confidence building and group interaction
*Improvisation: for encouraging story devising skills
*In class performance: for performance confidence
*A drama game in French: as in introduction to the French language

Tuesdays, 4-5.30pm (8 – 12 yrs): Each term focuses on one or two different skills, depending on where the group is up to, and each workshop includes:

*Warm up drama games
*A game, exercise or instruction in French
*A Skills Session; neutral position & neutral walk, physicality, rhythm of scenes, rhythm of characters, abstract movement, animal movement, element movement, focus, transitions, slapstick, status, improvisation, comedy, timing, film acting.

Thursdays, 5.15-6.45pm (12 – 15 yrs): This class is for the slightly more serious drama student. Students will learn several monologues throughout the year, as well as doing duologue and group scene work.This class also enters the national play competition Fast & Fresh.
