Big Music in the Northshore suburb of Crows Nest, is Sydney’s leading contemporary music school giving people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to fulfill their musical dreams.
Learn to play, perform and create music as well as engage in fun, authentic rock star experiences at Big Music. You can learn guitar, bass, piano, drums and singing. Experience what it’s like to be a rock star through a variety of group performance programs and rock bands.
School Holiday Music Camps
Every school holidays, Big Music runs fun programs for kids aged 7-17 catering for all levels of musical experience and ability. The emphasis of the camp programs is fun and participation in playing and performing music with others.
Each program runs for 4 days (Tuesday-Friday; 9.30-3.30) culminating in a performance for family and friends on Friday afternoon.
$440 for 4 days – Optional early drop off / late pick up $20/day or $60/week.
Program 1: Ultimate Rock Experience (7-12yrs)
Entry level program for kids with less than 2 years playing experience or who are keen to try multiple instruments.
Working in small groups lead by inspiring professional musicians, kids learn to play 5 instruments each day – guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and vocals. It’s a great way for kids to discover an instrument they love. At the end of the week the kids put on an awesome performance in front of family and friends who are always blown away!
Program 2: Holiday Rock Show (10yrs+)
Holiday Rock Show is for kids who have been learning an instrument for at least one year. A short audition may be required for first timers.
Students work hands-on with their pro musician coach to prepare for a live rock show in front of family and friends at the end of the week. Along the way they’ll spend time developing their musicianship, rehearsing, songwriting, learning stagecraft and interacting with other young musicians. It’s the coolest and most authentic rock star experience any kid could have!
Lessons
Casual Private lessons: $55/30 minutes; $98/1hr.
Weekly Private lessons: $49/30 minutes; $88/1hr.
Group lessons: Small group classes are available each week in guitar/bass, drums, piano/keyboards and singing. $35/30 minutes.
Birthday Parties
Celebrate like a rock star with a 2-hour musical extravaganza full of singing, dancing, fun games, competitions and other musical activities. Parents relax while the Big Music host takes charge with flashing lights and microphones on stage and music tailored for the birthday boy or girl.
Includes use of kitchen and BBQ, making catering easy and affordable. Balloons can be organised upon request, and every party-goer receives a Big Music party bag to take home.
Cost is $40 per party guest (excluding parents) with minimum of 10 and maximum of 30 guests.
