Best Sydney Halloween Events For Kids

Did you feel that shiver? Halloween is here to fill our streets with cobwebs and lollies, and turn kids into witches and monsters. ellaslist has found the best Halloween events and activities for kids in Sydney in 2017, from cheap and local activities to extravagant discos and entertainment. Check out these unique and quirky events to spook the night away.

1. Halloscream 5: Revenge of the Forgotten Funfair

At Sydney's Luna Park from Friday 27 October to Tuesday 31 October 2017, prepare to enter a scream-filled abandoned amusement park when Halloscream returns! Over 5 nights of pure terror, families will enjoy entry into attractions such as the Dead and Breakfast, the Mutant Beauty Salon, Madame Fortuna's Freakshow Fun, a Trick or Treat Trail for under 13s, a Putrid Playhouse and lots more. 2. Wannabees Halloween Kid's Disco

Wannabees Family Play Town's October disco will take on a Halloween theme so dress up in your favourite costume and enjoy a spectacular night full of fun, lights and the latest music on a laser-lit stage. Before the party starts, families will enjoy a tour of the city where kids visit the TV Studio, Fire Station, Restaurant, etc. After the city tour, some rooms will close to give way to the best music and games for the whole family. 3. Swamp Monsters in Centennial Park

Swamp Monsters - Sydney’s biggest, spookiest and arguably best-loved Halloween event for kids is back in Centennial Parklands this October 2017 filled with eerie and fun new twists, making it bigger and better than ever before! There will be five freak-tacular activity stations with a Halloween treat waiting upon completion, plus a pumpkin carving competition! More information here. 

4. Halloween at Chatswood Mall Market

Children are invited to dress up in their best costume and join in the fun this Halloween at Chatswood Mall Market! Kicking off at 3.30pm, children will enjoy entertainment by Circus Works, followed by scary face painting at 4.30pm and a Halloween disco with a DJ from Mega Music at 7pm. More information here.

5. Halloween at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel

Trick or treat! Grab your costumes, grab your maps. Beware the witches hats and traps. Explore the streets and move those feet. The Watson Bay Boutique Hotel is where we’ll meet. Our ghoulish and fiendish fish and chips will leave a smile on kids lips. That's not all little ones eat free*, Come on in and you will see! Halloween is closing in soon, the Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel invites you all to get involved in our yearly Trick or Treat trail. Join them on a spellbinding adventure. Be as spooky as you’d like. The trail concludes at the Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel, where they will be transforming the venue into a child-friendly haunted house. Kids will eat free with any main adult meal purchased. 6. Halloween Spooktacular at Action Studios

Kids under 8 will enjoy an action-packed Halloween with a deadly disco, arts and crafts, sausage sizzle, prizes for best dresses, and visits from trolls, superheroes, fairies and princesses! More information here. 

7. Sydney Zombie Walk

For 7 years, thousands of zombies have dragged their rotting limbs across Sydney’s streets for the Sydney Zombie Walk — a free event supporting The Brain Foundation. The CBD is turning into a post-apocalyptic scene, with touring the city streets from Hyde Park onto Park Street, George Street, King Street and ending at St James Station. 8. REAL Halloween

Real Grounded in Glebe invites you to join in on some unearthly good fun, food and drink. There will be a special themed menu, a witches banquet, awards for best dressed, a colouring-in competition, arts and crafts activities, a guessing competition, and so much more. 

9. Light The City 

Immerse yourself in a night of light and entertainment at Light The City this October!  Light the City promises to dazzle and delight. For one night only, Mrs Macquaries Road will be closed to cars and open for people to walk or ride past lights and special effects. This year’s event has a Halloween twist (including a zombie dance and spooky roaming entertainers) and will also feature an outdoor lounge with music, food and stalls by the harbour, a silent disco and roller racing stage. 10. Halloween at Canterbury Markets

Celebrate Halloween at the Canterbury Night Markets this October! There will be free entry into the racecourse as well as free parking for up to 3000 cars. All kid's activities, face painting and pony rides are free and there will be a Halloween craft area set-up for families to have some spooky fun. $5 drinks for adults and $5 meal options available.
