The Candyman can! Check out our list of the best lolly and confectionery shops in Sydney. Whether you’re looking for an imported British sweet, a can of American-style soda, or just some delicious, boiled-before-your-eyes lollies, you’ll find them on this list. They make for the perfect post-school pit-stop for extremely well-behaved little boys and girls.

1. Sticky, The Rocks

Makers and sellers of their speciality- rock candy. Children will be enthralled as Sticky’s Candymen and Candywomen stretch out soon-to-be-boiled rock candy with their hands. There’s always a super sweet tester for the kids to enjoy for free, and you can even design your own lollies and lollipops! At Sticky, they believe in making “sugar art”, not just lollies.

2. British Sweets & Treats, Waterloo

Sadly, the British Sweets & Treats’ cosy little store in Bondi Junction closed down, however online orders can be placed and picked up at Kennards in Waterloo! All the confectionery you just can’t find here can be attained through this delicious retailer, including British favourites such as Bonbons in all sorts of flavours, Quality Street, Fox’s range & Strawberry bootlaces, and American favourites such as Candy Corn, Twinkies and Pop Tarts.

3. Haigh’s Chocolates, QVB & Strand Arcade, Sydney CBD

More of a chocolate rather than lolly store, but definitely worthy of a spot on our list! Haigh’s has some of the most divine, delicious chocolates on the markets, with stores in the CBD that make selecting some to take home an elegant affair. They sell chocolate blocks, gift boxes, cylinders of chocolate caramels, milk chocolate frogs, gift boxes, and individual chocolates cut into delightful shapes.

4. Parry’s Milkbar and Candy Store, Caringbah

With a retro 1950s feel, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time in Parry’s pink-striped, chequered floor milk bar. It has been open since the 1950s and has retained the old-school vibes of meeting up at the milk bar for a creamy milkshake, ice cream sundae…and of course delicious selection of lollies! They mix Aussie lollies with imported sweets from the US and Britain such as Butterfingers, Hershey’s bars and Pop Tarts.

5. Candy Licious, Haymarket, Manly & Parramatta

At Candy Licious, you pay by the weight, so be careful your eyes are not bigger than your stomach! Nothing quite matches the true lolly-shop experience that is scooping mountains of lollies with metal scoopers into your very own colourful take-home bag. The colours are dazzling, you’ll feel as if you have just entered Will Wonka’s Chocolate Room. Image courtesy of noodlies.

6. USA Candy Factory Outlet, Caringbah

If American lollies are your thing, the USA Candy Factory Outlet is the place to go! Here you’ll find Pop Tarts, Campfire Marshmallows, Tootise Rolls, Twinkies, Candy Corns, Lucky Charms, cans of sodas, Twizzlers and more! The many shelves with brightly coloured candy might be a little overwhelming, so give yourself plenty of time to peruse.
