6. Sydney’s Metro Pools


Sydney has some gorgeous pools in the metropolitan area: Andrew Boy Charlton (outdoor), Prince Alfred Park Pool (outdoor), Victoria Park Pool (outdoor), Cook + Phillip Park Aquatic Centre (indoor), and the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre (indoor). For 22 weeks of the year, the outdoor pools run Learn-To-Swim programs based on Swim and Survive from Royal Life Saving Society (Australia) during the warmer weather. For the indoor pools, Learn-To-Swim children’s programs run for 48 weeks of the year, and are based on a holistic approach to aquatic education- your children will learn to swim, develop their stroke, and have fun! Children get a free swimming assessment when you book, as well as ongoing assessments throughout the program so that your child’s progression is well-tracked.
